ShopArlington is pleased to announce the ShopArlington Savings Card – yet another way ShopArlington is helping Arlingtonians to shop local. ShopArlington cards are free to users and available on the shoparlington.org Web site, at the Arlington County Fair, August 19-23rd and at any local community Partnership or BID office.

Merchant participation is free; once you have registered and added your ShopArlington Savings Card offer, you will receive a window cling to identify your store or restaurant as a ShopArlington participant.

Merchants who are a member of a Partnership (the Ballston-Virginia Square Partnership, Clarendon Alliance, Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization or Rosslyn Renaissance) or part of a Business Improvement District (BID) will receive additional prominence by having their logo displayed with the special.

What Types of Specials Should I Offer?

Merchants may offer any special they choose, however to maximize the benefits of the ShopArlington Savings Card, we suggest that merchants provide a worthwhile offer, such as:

1. A Percentage off: We suggest a MINIMUM of 20% off. This can be off one single item or off an entire purchase. 10% off typically does not encourage a customer to make a special shopping trip and does not offer a large incentive to visit the store.
2. A FREE item: This can be used in several ways. Merchants can offer a free dessert with entrée purchase, a free item for visiting the store, a free item if the customer spends a certain amount, etc.
3. Buy one, get one ½ off: This is a good offer for restaurants on entrees or retailers to increase purchase amount and/or multiple purchases.

Note: Specials offered should be valid ANYTIME.
